Just before Silver could sink his teeth into the bear’s hind limb it kicked at him with both hind legs. He didn’t have much time to think about it before his face made contact with a foot. The contact hit hard enough to knock him back a foot or two, but he managed to keep his footing. His muzzle was very sore and bruised, but nothing serious was dealt from such a blow. When he heard Androra speak he quickly replied. “The nearest river is outside the swamp and I’m not leaving unless you come immediately with us.†He circled the bear again moving in and out of its reach as he did so. He thought that giving up the rabbits was their best bet, but first he wanted the Jaguar to come with them for if she lingered to long she might be part of the meal.

"No I can escape up in the branches you can't, don't worry I'll be fine. The bear can't climb trees as fast as me. Go I'll come at the count of 15 after you leave so you have a head start. That goes for you to jackel." Androra said. She could hang on and as long as she was on the bears back she could keep it off her friends long enough for all of them to escape.

Samhain yelped when she saw Silver kicked away. She knew she couldn't stay hidden anymore, she wasn't letting anyone be torn apart on her behalf. She winced as the bear slammed the jaguar against the tree. She hoped Androra wasn't hurt too bad, she wouldn't be able to run if she was injured. Besides, Androra had a great plan, with just one problem... “The nearest river is outside the swamp and I'm not leaving unless you come immediately with us.”
“No I can escape up in the branches you can't, don't worry I'll be fine. The bear can't climb trees as fast as me. Go I'll come at the count of 15 after you leave so you have a head start. That goes for you to jackal.” But there was a problem with that too... “The bear won't need to climb the tree if he catches you! Come on, Androra, kick off of him to get a head start or something! But whatever you do, do it soon!” She danced anxiously, then darted away, hoping the other two would follow her.

Androra watched the jackel leave. " Ok Silver go don't worry I won't let this bear get me. I will run after you get a bit of a head start. Now go before either of us gets hurt worse, and the longer you stay the better chance that will happen. Now go." Androra keeps clawing at the bears face. Maybe she could blind it since she couldn't kill it. After giving up at clawing it's eyes Androra jumps down jaring her injured leg. She circles and circles the bear to confuse it and to keep away from it's claws and teeth. On one pass she grabs a rabbit to keep the bear's attention. Hoping that Silver would take his chance and run.

Silver listened to Samhain address Androra before watching her take off in the direction of the river. He was glad that the jackal was running towards safety, but he couldn’t get the jaguar to run too. She said she would follow them after they’d gone. What if the bear caught her though? They’d never know until it was too late. Still circling the bear he let out a frustrated snarl before changing course in the direction the jackal had just ran. “Alright, but you’d better follow soon! I don’t want to drag your mangled body from a murder scene when I’ve just barely met you!” He yelled over his shoulder, before disappearing from the bear and Androra’s sight. He wasn’t about to leave her too far behind though. Doing a quick turn to the left, he darted through the undergrowth then curved back towards his fighting friend and foe. He came to a halt when the bear and jaguar came into his line of vision and immediately hid behind a bush with his belly low to the ground. He made sure he was in a spot where the two couldn’t see him that way if his assistance was needed he would know. Once Androra made her escape he would follow after her.

Androra seen Silver leave. She counted to 15 then dropped the rabbit and took off as fast as her bad leg could take her. She was limping badly but she ignored the pain. She had promised to follow them and that's what she was doing. She just hoped she could outrun the bear with her hurt leg. If she made it out of this alive hunting would be hard for several days or weeks.

It took a second for the bear to stop himself from throwing himself violently about and realize that the feline had made a break for it. He had actually temporarily forgotten about the rabbits because the jaguar, which was nearly 1/5, his size latching onto his back had put him in a rage. His vision had literally tinted to a shade of light red and he couldn't think of anything he wanted more than to get payback. He lunged his entire 500 lbs of muscle towards the jaguar in an all out pursuit of death. She was injured so she wasn't nearly as fast as she could have been and this allowed the bear to actually manage to gain on her. He galloped with all his might, the swampy mush under his feet getting softer as he ran along the bank of the marshy creek.

Androra hears the bear giving chase. What was with it, it had the rabbits all to itself. She trys to run faster and faster. Her leg wasn't helping matters, it hurt worse and worse, her limp getting bader by the second. All of the sudden it catchs on a root and she falls down with a cry of pain. She tried to stand up but her leg wouldn't support her. She was going to be bear chow now, at least her friends got away.

The bear watched the black figure in front of him get larger as he closed in on her. The bear felt a wave of satisfaction wash over him, and inside...he was smiling. He skidded to a halt in front of the downed jaguar, mud covering his feet and the fur on his ankles. He reared up, mounting both feet in the muddy turf and let out a roar he was sure had chilled the helpless figure he towered over to the bone, for she stared death in the face and saw its every tooth. The bear raised its giant arm upward and prepared to bring his knife like three-and-a-half inch claws down upon her for the kill...but the gods smiled upon the ebony feline today and the unthinkable happened. Suddenly, out of what seemed like nowhere and completely catching the bear, who had realized all to late he had stepped so close to the waters edge, off guard a massive alligator lunged out of the murky swamp water and grabbed ahold of the grizzly's leg and pulled it down into the water. The bear landed on its side with a thump and screamed out in pain, attempting to swat at the alligator that was pulling him deeper into the water to no avail. This alligator had to have been extremely old to have reached such a size, because normally not even a good sized alligator would be able to take control of such a large animal. The alligator had the bear nearly completely under water now except for his head when it began to go into a death roll. The bear disappeared under the thrashing water for nearly a minute before the waters became calm again. All of a sudden the colossal gator emerged from the depths carrying an entire leg, from its paw to its bloody and mangled thigh, in its jaws and swam away down stream to find a better place to eat. Not long after this the body of the grizzly floated to the top of the water, its fur soaked in the muddy water and its left leg no longer attached. What had seemed like such a mighty predator had stumbled into the wrong place at the wrong time and would forever pay the the price. The body eventually drifted to the edge of the shore and stopped. It seems the fierce brute that had turned violent in the name of hunger had now became the meat. Can you say...how's that for a meal compared to a few scrawny rabbits?

((ok should have believed you more, I forgot about the gaters in the swamp.)) Androra stared at the body of the bear. She was having a hard time believing it was dead. She tried to get up again, but she couldn't. Maybe if she layed down some she would be able to get up then. She thought of the jackel and Silver waiting on her. She wished she could find them and tell them the bear was dead. The could feast for days on the body, they would be able to take it very close to her den by floating it in the water and swimming it there.

When Androra tripped Silver immediately shot up and over the bush to aid her, but the bear was upon her before he could reach her. A sick feeling rose in his stomach when he realized he wasn’t going to make it in time. The bear, hovering over her like a tree, was about to shred into the jaguar. Clenching his teeth, he urged his legs to move faster. What happened next though stopped him dead in his tracks. The largest alligator he quite possibly had ever seen launched out of the water near the bear and fastened into its hind limb causing it to collapse onto its side. The bear put up a fight, but was no match for the water dwelling reptile. Soon, the bear disappeared under the water before coming back up with its rear leg missing. It was just as dead as the rabbits they had killed earlier. A chuckle was emitted from the ebony brute’s throat. The predator had become the prey . . . how ironic.
Now that the danger was gone, he resumed running with a little less determination then previously. The jaguar attempted to get up, but her hurt leg caused her to sink back down again. It worried him. If it was damaged to badly she might not be able to run or defend herself if the time arose again. The thing he hoped the most was that it wasn’t broken.
Once he reached Androra, he brought his muzzle down to her wounded appendage and inhaled deeply before licking it softly. The bear could wait a moment. “Androra are you alright? Do you want to just rest here for a bit?” He questioned with concern in his voice. As much as he wanted to get out of here, he didn’t want to put more strain on her leg than was needed. He wished he knew where Samhain exactly was for he’d like to confirm whether she was safe or not. Lifting his snout up towards the heavens, he let out a long howl in hopes that the jackal would hear and come back.

Androra was surprised when Silver showed up, hadn't he ran? Well she was happy for the company. She trys again to rise and succends, but she wasn't going to be running for a few days. " Silver I thought I told you to run. As for my leg it's going to keep me from running for awhile, I don't think it's broken though. The bear slamed it into a tree trying to get me off it's back. That along with the strain of running and catching on thst root made it worse." Androra takes a step and winces, 'darn that bear' she thinks. " Yup going to be a pain for a few days." she trys to joke.

When Samhain heard the bear's great roar, her first instinct was to redouble her speed and not look back. But the little jackal had done many things against instinct today, and instead of fleeing faster, she turned back to where she had left the other two. Soon, she heard a great splashing, followed by the cry of a predator in pain. She winced, but wait, that didn't sound like either a cat or a wolf. What could harm a grizzly bear? The deathly silence follwing this made her speed up. She had to know what had happened.
She then heard Silver's howl, and her heart skipped. He was okay! She listened to the timbre of the howl; not mourning, but summoning. Did that mean Androra was okay as well? She topped a mushy ridge and spied the two at the edge of the swampy water. Next to them was the bear, and the sharp metallic smell of blood was all around them. She barked happily, and gave a yodeling howl to let them know she was coming.
She saw the cat try to rise, and make it up, though she was wobbly on her feet. She was obviously hurting, though she tried to put a laugh in her voice. "Yup, going to be a pain for a few days." At least she could talk. Samhain slid down the hill, stopping herself just before she landed into them. She walked around both of them, assuring herself they were unharmed. Satisfied, she sat and spoke to both of them.
"If you are hurt badly, Androra, we could use the rabbit burrow for a temporary den. At least until you can walk. The bear will feed us for a few days. And that way you won't be injured worse by trying to walk somewhere else." Samahin looked up to Silver, hoping he would chime in and agree.

A few minutes after he sounded his howl he heard the high pitched voice of Samhain. She didn’t sound too far away, so she shouldn’t be long arriving. His attention back on the jaguar he licked at her sore limb before replying. “Run I did, but I couldn’t leave you unattended. While you were about to jump off the bear I hid a couple of yards away to wait for you. It’s a good thing I did too or Samhain and I would have been waiting for you not knowing that you were hurt. It saved you a lot of pain too.” He frowned when she took a step only to wince and joke about it. This wasn’t good. With her hurt she’d be open to other predators including his kind. They’d enjoy eliminating the ebony feline. It would be one less they’d have to worry with.
Seeing the jackal appear over the hill he gave a wag of his tail and emitted a pleased grin. At least she was in one piece . . . of course he wasn’t really worried since she had managed to scamper away while Androra and him were engaging the bear. Two casualties would have disastrous. As the jackal voiced her idea, he threw his skull back and laughed; just as joyful as he always had before the bear found them. “Why didn’t I think of that?” His tail flicked over her shoulder lightly. “I agree with you. That might be the best thing to do.” He averted his visage to the jaguar. “Sound like a plan to you?”

"Yah one problem, I can't fit in the rabbit hole and even if I could, should it rain the hole would flood. I can walk just not fast. Swimming would be even easier than walking and pushing the bear along in the water, to the river's mouth we can swim it close to my den." With that said Androra walks to the water and gets in. "Yep swimming is easier than walking for me." she says swimming in a couple of circles.
