Androra was walking along the river looking for fish or other things to eat. When she came to the fork in the river she hopped across branchs to go left. A liitle ways down she found a scent trail which lead to some thick bushes. The bushs started shaking. who could it be? she wondered and stepped closer

Soft pink tongue ran across the Ebony brute’s lips riding them of the crimson liquid that clung to his fur. The cadaver of a newly downed rabbit was curled before him. The poor creature hadn’t seen him coming until the brute had it in his jaws. Silver smirked silently thanking the Gods for such a fat easy meal. As he reached down to take a mouthful, a scent drifted into his nostrils causing him to jerk up and become alert. The scent smelt of feline. Toxic hackles rose along his neck and spine and a low rumble issued from his vocal cords. Holding his ground behind the bush, he lowered his head and spat his words through the bushes. “Don’t you dare set one more paw closer.” His lips lifted up to reveal his sharp teeth in warning. The feline, whatever it was, couldn’t see him but he hoped it would turn tail before coming around the bush that had been hiding him.

(post was completely re-written as I didn't post fast enough) Silver tipped fur raised along her back as the small lithe canine form scented the two opposing forces ahead of her. She could also scent fresh blood. Samhain licked her snowy muzzle. Maybe the distraction might prove rewarding? If she could slip in while the two argued, she might steal away with dinner. She settled back, a safe, but easily closable distance from the two and waited for the scene to unfold.

a mouse ran out of the bush. Androra's paw struck out killing the foolish rodent in one swipe. she nugs it closer to the wolves. she has no wish to fight nor take there meals for she can hunt her own. she cares not a rivalries between clans and packs for she is a loner, one who is not in either. she lays down to show she means no harm. as she does she scents the rabbit's burrow nearby with at least two others in it. does the wolf wish to share?

Realizing the female Jaguar had no intentions of swiping his meal, Silver relax his frame and covered his teeth. He had expected her to take his meal like any other lone creature would. Out here it was eat or be eaten or eat fast or loose your meal. Plopping his rump against the swampy mush, he tilted his skull to the side and studied the weird feline. If one wasn’t careful one could mistake her for a black panther since her spots where barely visible among her ebony pelt. If she wasn’t hostile then he wouldn’t be. Besides… for a feline she was quite stunning. “Sorry for my hostility, M’lady. It’s just hard to trust creatures now a days. Ya know?” He gave her a charming smile, before continuing. “My name is Silver.. and you?” The whole time he never noticed the wily jackal plotting to snag his meal. The world was full of irony, no?

(Go look in Kaninju's rp. Arvais and me posted something for you there.) Silver peered over at the Jackal, now aware of her presence because of the Jagaur. Lifting a lip at the Jackal, he placed his massive right paw over the cadaver protecting it from this new threat that had appeared. Then again… Lifted lip turned into a polite smile as a gesture of friendship towards the small canine. “Why, hello there, M’lady. You hungry?” Once again his flirtatious personality got the best of him. He couldn’t deny any female no matter how small; epecially such a cutie as the one before him now. Hearing what Andora said, he nodded his approval. “Alright then. The pretty jackal here can take my newly slain rabbit while you and me go hunting for more.”

'Well isn't this an interesting development,' thought Samhain. She couldn't believe her black tipped ears. She jumped back as the cat tossed a mouse to her. She hesitated, but food was food at this moment, and she darted in, snatched the tiny body and gulped it with two quick crunches. She flinched at the curled lip of the emerald tipped wolf, then laid her ears back in comfusion as he spoke, “Why, hello there, M’lady. You hungry?” Of course she was hungry. Small she may be, but a mouse was little more than an appetizer. “Alright then. The pretty jackal here can take my newly slain rabbit while you and me go hunting for more.” Pretty? None had ever called her pretty before. Not once in her few years. It made her curious, but she was more concerned with avoiding those teeth at the moment. But offering a kill? What was it about this place? She watched the cat begin digging at a burrow. It struck her as funny, to see a cat digging like a canine, and she let loose a yelping bark of laughter. She quickly silenced herself; better to not draw attention in case the rabbits scattered and the two large predars turned on the next smallest thing. With the two distracted though... She took a few quick leaps, and grabbed the abandonded lapine's torn body. She bolted back to her safe spot and began eating as quickly as she could. It wasn't often free food was this easy to aquire, and she did not want to lose the opportunity for a good meal.

Silver furrowed his brow at the antics of the large feline all the while titling his skull to the side. Digging at a rabbit’s warren wasn’t one of the best ways to get a meal. She could have been digging at one end while the rabbit escaped from another hole linked to the first. Rabbits were tricky once inside their home. At the sound of laughter, he glanced over at the Jackal for a moment before averting his gaze back on the jaguar. “You know… your rabbits might have disappeared through a different escape route. Their warren can go pretty far.” He stated with a smirk and headed over to where she stood. In the background he could hear the sound of somebody devouring the rabbit he had killed and smelt the scent of metallic blood. Obviously the jackal had taken him up on his offer. “But, if you’re sure the rabbits are still in there then move over.” He placed his paws beside the felines and started to dig at the burrow too. “Even if they’re gone at least we had some fun playing in the dirt.” A chuckle sounded from him uncaring if the rabbits heard it. If the rabbits weren’t scared away by the digging then a few words and a chuckle wouldn’t do any harm.

"No there still in there i hear them" Moves for wolf. "This might just be a new burrow with only one entrance at the moment." Looks at jackal. "She seems to be puzzled by our kindness though" Looks at wolf. "Why would that be unless she was a loner like me"

Silver swiveled his ears slightly and concentrated on the rabbit burrow. Sure enough he could make out the grunts of distress coming from within. The feline was sharp. This burrow didn’t go very far at all if the creatures below were still underneath them. That was just the incentive he needed work a little harder. Scrapping his paws against the dirt with increased force he was bent on completing this excavation and getting the prize at the end of the tunnel. He wanted to impress their viewer too… not that digging out a rabbit was very impressive. Androra had said the Jackal was puzzled by their kindness and he believed it. Most everyone that he’d seen out here were loners and a lot of them liked it that way. This was one reason why the Jackal might have been puzzled. Another could be that loners, especially ones that are bigger, don’t usually just give up their prey to a smaller creature. “She is a loner like you. Just as I am. The sharing of food doesn’t happen very often unless the loners know each other or they work together to take down a meal. Even then, the stronger loner sometimes takes the prey away from the other or eats first.” He stopped mid dig and shrugged before sticking his snout down the increasingly widened hole. After a moment of sniffing, he brought his snout back up covered in wet dirt and continued his digging process. “Guess we’re an oddity.” They were defiantly that.

Samhain shook her head, the last few scraps of fur going flying into the air around her. The wolf and cat seemed thoroughly unaffected by her presense, so she felt safe in pressing her luck and drawing closer to where the were digging so intently at the tree roots. It seemed so... strange, and yet, it also looked like fun. For one crazy second, she pictured herself joining them. Then her barking laughter echoed again, as she shook the picture out of her mind. Although she couldn't help but admire the big wolf for his dedication in excavating his dinner.
As she drew closer, her ears perked to hear them talk. She is a loner like you. Just as I am. Well that explains a few things, and at least she didn't have to worry about a pack or a pride suddenly coming up and joining the party. The sharing of food doesn’t happen very often unless the loners know each other or they work together to take down a meal. Wasn't that the truth. Sometimes not even then did they share, especially when food was scarce. But that didn't seem to be too big a problem at the moment.
Guess we’re an oddity. The little jackal definitely had to agree there. She ducked to avoid a clump of dirt that the wolf had inadverdantly lobbed in her direction, at least, she assumed it was inadverdant. They were most definitely the oddest trio to be had for probably a few miles. 'But maybe there was something to be said for working in an odd group,' she thought as she saw one rabbit slip out of a hastily dug escape burrow. She darted in and snapped it up, quickly breaking its back. She almost started eating out of habit, but then stopped herself.
"I've got one," she yelped. "I'll hang on to it until you get that other out of there."

"Thank you jackal. Might I ask you your name. I'm know as Androra. You may join us if you like. I will not bite. After this you both may rest in my cave if you like. It's nearby. The river is close to it as well but far enough away it won't flood easy. I also agree Silver we are indeed odd. Most canines and felines are enemies. We seem to be friends. A wolf, a jackal, and a jaguar. Yep, odd alright." Laughs. " We could probably start the oddist loner group ever. If you two don't mind, that is."

Samhain cocked her head in amusement. Now a cat was asking her name? Most of the large preadators cared little for the smaller ones, unless they were chasing them off of a kill. She thought for a moment, then gave a small shrug. What would it hurt? "You are welcome. I am called Samhain, Androra." She puzzled for a little longer over the rest of the jaguar's offer, then made up her mind.
"I am afraid however that I must decline your kind offer. We jackals, well, we tend to not get along very well with others in general." She picked up the rabbit and lobbed it in Androra's direction. "But you can get started on that in the meantime, at least until, Silver did you say his name was? Until Silver gets his head out of that hole." She barked a laugh.
It was kind of funny you know? A jaguar chewing on a rabbit caught by a jackal, flushed by a great dire wolf who was, even now, head and shoulders deep in the roots of a tree going after another, which may, or may not, be getting away from him. She hoped that he would climb out of the hole eventually, though. He sure knew how to sweet talk the ladies...
